Arne Slot Asserts He Feels Secure and Retains The Club's Backing Following PSV Loss

Arne Slot acknowledged that it's understandable for concerns to be asked about his future following another heavy loss versus the Dutch champions.

The Reds endured their 9th defeat in twelve matches, representing the club's poorest streak since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Eredivisie champions on a difficult night at Anfield.

“I am feeling safe, I'm fine, I have got a lot of support from the top,” Slot remarked.

“It would be nice to change things and get a victory naturally but if you are in a managerial role and struggling then it's expected that questions are asked.”

He noted, “I'm comfortable with my situation. It is not the initial instance I’ve been in a difficult position but it is about time that we improved our results.”

Talks with Liverpool Hierarchy

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his conversations with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach said:

“We talk a lot. They assist to the team and for me and those talks happen but they don't phone me constantly of the day to say they have faith in me.”

He mentioned, “Through standard discussions I feel the trust. However I haven’t spoken to them since this game yet so we'll see.”

Recurring Issues and Squad Reaction

Slot highlighted known shortcomings from his Liverpool side in their Champions League loss, namely wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Jones was more forthright in his view of the team's situation.

“I haven't got the solutions. Honestly, I do not. I’m saying that to all,” the midfielder stated.

“It's simply not good enough. I don’t even have to wait to consider it. I'm beyond feeling anger internally. I’m at the point now where I just don’t have the vocabulary.”

He continued, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the team I support. I support them, and I've watched Liverpool all my life.”

“For many years, I've not seen a Liverpool team experiencing a phase like this with performances this poor.”

He stated, “But we still have the crest on our shirts. And until it is removed, we'll continue to battle.”

“Our aim is to help the side back to the top, demonstrate to all again what this club is about and the reason it's called the greatest side in the planet.”

“However currently, things are bad and we have to turn it around.”
