Each have been linked with the manager's job at the Scottish champions following Brendan Rodgers' departure on Monday.

The Manager's Position on The Scottish Club

McKenna referred to Celtic as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "in the middle" of a "long-term project" with the Championship side.

The mid-thirties took charge of Ipswich in 2021 and guided the team to the English top flight with back-to-back promotions, but they managed only a handful of victories last season as they were relegated back to the Championship and they currently sit twelfth place in England's second tier.

"I have not had any of those discussions," the English capital native ex- Northern Ireland young player said when asked about being on Celtic's shortlist.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any part of my focus is currently.

"I possess a special position here at a remarkable club. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Everything outside of that hasn't touched my radar."

Background and Agreement Details

It has been suggested that McKenna would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our preferences," he said when questioned about these. "It's unlikely all people has to go around and announce what they were, but naturally it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna signed a fresh four-year contract in 2024 and was questioned about his reported £5m release clause.

"In every manager's contract, there are things," he replied. "I'm unaware what my specific terms are and, if I did, I wouldn't tell you anyway!

"I approach this job like I will remain Town's coach indefinitely. I understand that's not invariably going to be the situation, but I'll always give maximum effort as long as I am here."

Bellamy's Position

The former striker played for Celtic on temporary transfer from Newcastle United in 2005, but the ex- Welsh forward is inclined to complete the current World Cup campaign, a position that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Celtic job.

Wales are currently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers the Red Devils and second-placed North Macedonia.

Wins over the minnows and North Macedonia in next month would secure their position in the final qualifying round, but they are all but assured of making those, thanks to a productive Nations League campaign, even if they fail to finish as their group runners-up.

Considering his current position, Bellamy, whose agreement expires after the European Championship, would not be available until following the play-offs at the earliest.
