The Austrian squad has revealed significant changes for the 2026 Grand Prix year, moving up Frenchman Isack Hadjar to its main squad and awarding British teenager Arvid Lindblad his maiden Formula 1 seat. The young driver, who is of Swedish and Indian heritage, is set to become team-mate to New Zealander Liam Lawson at the second team VCARB. These changes results in Japan's Yuki Tsunoda losing his seat after five seasons. A Star in the Making Arvid Lindblad participated in first practice for the Silverstone and Mexican Grands Prix this year. Lindblad has been marked out as a prodigy by Red Bull since he was 12 years old. Regarding the team's junior academy, a senior Red Bull figure previously said that Lindblad "looks really promising", commending his "natural quickness". The team has been working since last year to ready Lindblad for his likely F1 debut in 2026, featuring runs in Grand Prix practice at Silverstone and Mexico City. The rookie said it was a "huge honour", adding: "2026 will be a huge step, and I know there's plenty to absorb, but I'm ready to collaborate with the team and meet the challenge. I am incredibly excited to get started." Lindblad has taken a couple of victories in F2 this year and is sixth in the standings ahead of the final round in Abu Dhabi. Hadjar's Big Break The French driver enjoys his first podium in F1, achieved at the Zandvoort race this season. Hadjar's F1 career began on a low note when he spun out on the formation lap of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. However, from that point, he has emerged as one of the stand-out newcomers this season. He included an excellent top-three result at the Dutch Grand Prix, and he sits 10th in the championship. The team principal commented: "Hadjar has displayed great maturity and proved to be a quick learner. Crucially, he has the innate pace that is the number one requirement in this sport. We believe he can thrive alongside Max." Hadjar described it "an incredible opportunity" and said he felt "ready". Tsunoda's Exit To partner Lindblad at the junior team, Red Bull have preferred Lawson over Tsunoda. The New Zealander started 2025 with the senior squad but was moved back early in the year. However, he has found his form at the junior outfit with notable results, persuading Red Bull he deserves another season. The Japanese driver, in contrast, has been ejected after a difficult season. His best result is a P6, and he has scored a minor percentage of the team's constructors' championship. These announcements mean that there is also no spot on the Red Bull programme for Ireland's Alex Dunne, who will remain in F2 for 2026.
