The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “poisoning our kids” by instructing students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his viewpoint on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike very quickly after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their organizations for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he claims … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

However, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in 2023 caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for no charge to every interested learner.”
